Psalm 143:8

Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.

Study notes

The psalmist asks to hear of God's steadfast love in the morning, because he trusts God, and to be shown the way he should go.

Explanation

The psalmist is in great trouble (143:3-4). He asks for two things at the start of the day: to know God's love, and to be shown the right way. "To You I lift up my soul" is a picture of handing himself over to God.
