For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”Study notes
Jesus says the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
Explanation
Jesus says this at the home of Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector whom people considered a sinner (19:1-9). Zacchaeus has just promised to give to the poor and repay anyone he cheated. Jesus describes His whole mission in this one sentence.
