Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Study notes

God promises that when His people pass through water or fire, He will be with them and they will not be overwhelmed or burned.

Explanation

Water and fire are pictures of the worst dangers. God does not promise there will be none, but that He will be with His people in them, and they will not be destroyed.
